Introductions and Paperwork
When you enter the waiting room, you’ll be greeted by one of our helpful team members who will get you started on your paperwork. Before your initial exam, it’s important to fill out the proper paperwork so we’re fully informed about your oral health history and your overall health. This only takes about 15 minutes.

Please make sure to bring your state-issued photo ID and your insurance card in order to complete the process.
Your Comprehensive Exam and Essential X-rays
During your checkup, you’ll meet with Dr. Crandall to discuss your dental history. If you have any concerns, be sure to mention it so we can accommodate your needs. At Artisan Dental Care, we encourage you to ask questions.
Next, Dr. Crandall will examine your teeth, mouth, and gums for any signs of irregularities or gum disease. A full set of x-rays will also be taken for further examination. Dr. Crandall will inspect your x-rays, looking for decay, impacted teeth, or any other issues that require professional attention.

Returning Patients
Our staff at Artisan Dental Care is here to help you get the most out of your smile. Dr. Crandall recommends that all our patients visit the office at least twice a year for standard cleanings and examinations.
Plaque is the rough substance on your teeth that’s removed by our hygienist during a regular dental cleaning. The bacteria that cause cavities and gum disease feed on plaque. That’s why regular professional cleanings are a crucial part of maintaining healthy oral hygiene. Dr. Crandall may request that some patients visit more frequently — each dental care plan is unique to the individual.
At least once a year, you’ll need to have x-rays taken to help us prevent issues that would otherwise become a problem in the future. You can speak with Dr. Crandall or one of our team members to find out when your last x-rays were taken.
